10 Must Do's While In The Florida Keys

Other than living on island time there are so many things we love to do in the Keys. So get ready to take notes and plan your next trip because I'm about to give you 10 of our things to do and places to eat while in the Florida Keys. 

Key Largo
  1. ​​John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park *be sure to ask for military discount

• ​Snorkel -We were running out of time during the trip so we didn't get to snorkel, but we will definitely go back and snorkel the reef next time.
• Scooba Dive
• Glass Bottom Boat Tour -Since we didn't get to snorkel, the Glass Bottom Boat Tour was the next best thing. We were able to kind of get up close and personal with some ocean life while staying dry. ​

Islamorada
  2. Robbie's

• Feed the tarpon -Have you ever watched someone hand feed HUGE tarpon before? No? Click here and type in "tarpon" in the search bar to watch my oldest son do just that. 
• Shop at the outdoor market
• Eat at the restaurant
• Schedule a jet ski tour- All of the guys loved this! If it's during the "in season" you will definitely need to either call in advance, or at minimum sign up for a tour as soon as you arrive and before you eat. 
• Charter a boat

   3. Theater of the Sea​ -My boy was in heaven being surrounded by animals, then his day was
       completely made when he was selected to get kissed by a dolphin.

Marathon
  4. Dolphin Research Center -Our youngest son is quite obsessed with Dolphins, so when we 
      surprised him with the chance to swim with the dolphins he was over the moon!
​  5. Curry Hammock State Park -The beach is great place toinflate the kayaks (we did) and explore.     
       They have a campground to camp at as well.
  6. Castaway Waterfront Restaurant- They have so much on their menu to choose from, but we didn't        eat anything but sushi and it was DIVINE!!! And when I say we ate sushi I mean we ate a lot of                  sushi. Castaway has the best view too. While we were waiting to be seated a manatee greeted us              as he took a little sip from the fisherman's boat as he cleaned it.  
  7. Explore and snorkel Bahai Honda State Park

Key West
  8. Watch the kiteboarders in Truman Waterfront Park
  9. Eat & Shop down the Duval Street side of Key West -Go early! It gets hot and crowded.

• The Key West Butterfly & Nature Conservatory
• Eat at Blue Heaven -The absolute best place for brunch and key lime pie.
• Take a picture at the Southern Most Point (Get in line early-before 10:00am-to avoid the long line)

  10. Eat, Shop & and CHASE THE SUNSET in Mallory Square!!! 

• Visit my friend at Key West Soaps for some AMAZING natural (for real) soaps and skin care
• Eat at Two Friends -The seafood platter and homemade chips are my (Brandie) fave!
• Pick up some Cuban coffee from Cuban Coffee Queen
• Grab a key lime pie on a stick from Kermit's Key Lime Shoppe
• Watch the street performers in Mallory Square before sunset.
